E-Sword

[Christopher]

After having heard folks like Scott B. on this board talk about the E-Sword for over a year I finally downloaded it a week ago. Love it! It is so nice not having to insert disks to look up Bible refs and Greek. Love the parallel feature as well. I can not believe it is free. They even have the ESV for free!

Yes, it is probley the msot used program on my computer (except for FireFox)...They just brought out the ESV last month (maybe a little longer ago) I believe. It was great, I bought an ESV Bible and then they brought it out within a couple days.

I love that program

I just pray that they can get permission soon for the NKJV...then it would be complete for my purposes.

Pastor Watts, how do you like the NKJV?

[dswatts]

I like the NKJV, but actually am growing quite fond of the ESV. I would like to have NKJV available on e-Sword for easy, side by side comparision.

We currently use the NKJV at church, but if Crossway will ever put out a truly large or giant print edition (we have several older folks who simply can't read the standard pew bible print), I would be more inclined to make the change.

In my heart though I will always be a KJV man. (not KJV-only!) I think that is because I memorized so much scripture as a young man in the KJV. I also do enjoy the poetic beauty of the language. I know many don't like the 'thee' and ' thou', and think it is hard to understand, but for those of us who spend many hours plowing through the puritans, the KJV is a veritable cake walk!

Dwayne

I've been waiting for new translations to be available. I haven't been to their site for a while now, so I missed that new addition. Thanks for the info. I'm off to download it right now.
