Trista

Puritan Board Freshman
My name is Trista. I am a confessional Reformed sister living in Canada, and a mother of two daughters. I am currently trying to grow deeper in my faith and learn more about Reformed theology (I really enjoy Ligonier Ministries).
I am looking for a mature, older sister who might be willing to be my spiritual reading partner online (via Zoom or just email/messaging). My goal is simple: to read the Bible or a basic theology book together, and to fellowship.
Please note that English is my second language and I am still learning. So I am hoping to find someone who is very patient, willing to read slowly with me, and help me understand theological English vocabulary while we grow together spiritually.
If any older sister has the time and heart to walk alongside a younger mom, please send me a message. Thank you so much!

That's awesome. If no one else does I can ask my wife, she would probably enjoy that. She's solid and we have 4 younger kids.
Thank you for you the kind offer! As a mon of two girls, I know taking care of four kids must keep her incredibly busy. I really don't want to add to your wife's plate, so I will wait for an old sister who has more free time, but I truly appreciate your family's kindness!

Trista, I feel for you very much in your situation! I doubt I am very much older than you (... probably! ...) and so I don't think I will be the partner you are looking for, but I did just want to encourage you as you reach out like this! and to encourage you in your exploration of the Reformed faith.

I suppose you will know there is a "Ladies Only" forum here on Puritan Board, and I wonder if from time to time posting there might put you in touch with a range of wise and friendly sisters. I know it's not exactly what you're asking for but just mentioning it as another possible resource to tap!

Trista, I second Cath's idea to post in the Ladies Only forum! It wouldn't be exactly what you're thinking of, but we could get to know each other a bit and I think you might find some encouragement there.

Thank you. I tried my best to search for the "the Ladies Only forum" and just couldn't find it on the site. Could you point me in the right direction on how to join it?

Sorry Trista, the fact about getting into the Ladies forum that Chris mentioned above had escaped me. If you want to send me a DM, I will
be glad to talk further!
