I'm loving this CRU scandal - about a thousand leaked emails detailing how global warming "scientists" have worked hard to suppress any contradictory evidence about the "fact" of climate change, how scientific journals have been encouraged to not publish papers by those scientists who are skeptical - and how these "scientists" have cooked the books on the supposed data used in their databases to make the computer models come up with the "correct" answers.

As someone at National Review put it: these leaked emails could be the Pentagon Papers of the global warming scam.

Perhaps this will be the beginning of the end of all this nonsense...

I was sitting at the Ford dealership yesterday waiting on some recall work to be done. On the television was the president speaking at a joint conference with the Indian PM. In the statement he pressed on and on about issues that pertained to global warming as if none of the CRU stuff has taken place. The Socialists/Communists will continue to press their agenda regardless of fact. They always have. But, the hubris displayed was striking.

I am glad the truth has finally come out. I am so sick of hearing about global warming. A couple of years ago, my husband came home from work and tossed a chart on my desk. It had come from a scientist at the university where he works. By plotting plant growth in northern countries, recorded temperatures, etc. over the last 2000 years, it showed that the earth has gradually been cooling down. We were at that time in a heating spike of a cooling trend. According to that information, solar flares were causing the temporary warmer temperatures. Now, we are on the down side of that and things are cooling down again.

My understanding of the leaked emails is that they speak of evidence contrary to the global warming hypothesis being suppressed, not that there is absolutely no evidence of global warming. We must be careful not to push this new evidence too far to fit our own agendas.

One of the reasons that I am not convinced of global warming is the agenda that I perceive behind most of the more zealous advocates. But I have not evaluated the data and can reach no conclusion based on the scientific evidence, but I don't see why man couldn't affect the environment is negative ways like they have proposed.

I just think we need to be more careful and measured in our reaction to such things as this scandal.

At the risk of committing a genetic fallacy, in my opinion anything coming from the ilk of the left is suspect. As they are generally unbelievers, they see mankind (read themselves) as captain of both culture and the planet (I hesitate to use "creation" in this sense). Hence they see it their obligation to impose whatever draconian measures they see fit to accomplish their goal.

For what it's worth, I believe there is global warming, but not man-made, rather a cyclical condition.

I did watch Al Gore's movie and see that he presented many charts. If the charts are from technical measuring devices then the chart are just results from the data. If the data shows the warming of the planet, I might accept the facts. After hearing both sides of the extreme views, I'm assuming that the planet will find a way to reverse the warming. Perhaps a little ice will help. The planet must have been through this many times. Although the Global Warming scare exists, I think it kick started many new energy technologies and hopefully we'll make a star trek enterprise space ship and get busy going to the stars. Our planet is too small anyway. Maybe we can find a way to put the Muslims, atheist and other cult's on the moon.

They made graphs with two sets of data- inferred/proxy and actual. In one graph. I would have flunked college if I tried that.

Congress supposedly set up Goldman Sachs to be the default regulator for the carbon trading schemes. The ingenuity in thinking up new ways to loot Americans is incredible.

This news has made remarkably little splash so far in the mainstream media. it was reported in our paper, but with about a hundredth of the coverage the parliamentary expenses scandal got. Now why could that be?
