I would recommend Dr Nick Needham ( Historical Lectures from the Reformed Baptist Church, Inverness, Scotland given by Dr Nick Needham ).

I do not have time to say much, but try The Early Episcopal Career of Athanasius of Alexandria, by Duane Arnold and NPNF2-04. Athanasius: Select Works and Letters | Christian Classics Ethereal Library for a good introduction and primary source material of Athanasius' writings.

I have heard good things about Athanasius: a theological introduction, by Thomas Gerard Weinandy and it can be found at the following googlebooks site:

I have not read Weinandy’s work personally so I cannot professionally recommend it as of yet. It down at the bottom of the pile of books for myself to read. Right now my priority is working on Cassius Dio's Roman History to set up the political interactions within the late second century of the Roman Empire and at the same time examining the second century controversy concerning Christians and the Passover for some private historical research that am involved in, which is one of the reasons why am not online much.
