I was looking into getting a commentary on the Corinthian letters, and the commentaries by Charles Hodge keep popping up whenever I search.

So, I was wondering if anyone has read it before? And if so, what would your review be?

Or, if not Hodge's edition, what other theologians commentaries on Corinthians would you recommend?

Just started 1 Cor. a few weeks ago.

Hodge very helpful. Good on technical stuff.

Also useful;

Leon Morris (Tyndale NT series)
Rodger Ellsworth Strengthening Christ's Church (Welwyn Series EP)
Paul Barnett (Christian Focus/Focus on the Bible Series)
Definitely Calvin and Matthew Henry also Lenski

It's too bad William Hendriksen went to the Lord before he got to the Corinthian epistles! I've stayed away from getting the Kistemaker fill-ins on those books ('cause who can stand in for WH?), though finding his volume on Revelation in the New Testament Commentary series really excellent I think I'll reconsider and get him on Corinthians as well. I found Hodge excellent, and I also used Calvin (always good) and Gill (ditto). I'm afraid my library on Corinthians is a little weak!
