Help with this objection

So I was debating an atheist(Hindu by birth) and was showing Him why morality shows there is a final judgment 'cause without the Biblical God evil like murder and rape would make no sense cause only an ultimate standard can make us say if there's right or wrong(being made in God's image and morality reflecting God's nature) - coz we don't complain when a hawk kills a mouse but when humans do it it's abominable
Now the objection he brought up was
Your religion is unjust too coz any murderer/rapist if he truly repents some time before his death he's going to heaven anyway, so there's no punishment there either coz Christ took it.
Now I tried explaining the fact that all of us deserve hell because of our total depravity/radical corruption but obviously the natural man receiveth not the things of God
But is there a more convincing way in which I can refute this objection, brethren?

To me, that man’s objections show the glory of the gospel and of God’s grace revealed in it. The fact that “the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before” the outwardly moral Pharisees (Matt. 21:31) is the scandal of the gospel, but it demonstrates the depth of God’s forgiving, redeeming, and transforming grace towards undeserving sinners. It shows that God’s grace is entirely unmerited in order to glorify Him and that no one can make a claim on having a right to His mercy by their own deeds. He says there is no punishment because Christ took it, but that also is the glorious centerpiece of the gospel. There was a real punishment — far more severe and exact and just than we can even imagine — but it was on Someone else in our place. You’re right though, natural man has a distaste for these things because their spiritual palates have never been given a taste for Christ crucified and His righteousness.

Someone once asked me, What if Hitler repented before he died? I said that Christ came into the world to save even the chief of sinners. One sin, even the least, deserves God's wrath and curse. All sin, even the worst, can only be forgiven because of the infinite merit of Christ's blood.

This is like the evolutionists. They think by adding time they can somehow create something from nothing. But no amount of time will create. Likewise with salvation. No amount of time makes amends for one sin. Time heals no wounds. Hell lasts for ever because no amount of human suffering can satisfy for the infinite offence we have committed against God. The alternative to the Christian way of salvation is no salvation.
