I have to deliver a commencement speech in a week. It's quite an honor for me. I'll be delivering it to service members and spouses who attend a satellite campus out here and have earned their degrees from Central Texas College.
I've got a few ideas in my head. Do any of you have any killer quotes about knowledge, wisdom, and education?
I actually intend to use a bit of the Proverbs and Ecclesiastes to speak of the futility of knowledge attained "under the sun" that does not pursue Wisdom but I need to flesh that out.
My intent is to encourage them in their pursuit of knowledge but to get them to start thinking about the aim or chief end of knowledge and not merely the pursuit of material gain.
