I truly love my iPhone 3GS, but I held off buying the iPhone 4, mostly because AT&T is going to be converting to 4G sometime in 2011. I'll just wait until the iPhone 4G comes out.

I think the sticker would probably fix the problem. Vinyl would insulate the antennae from your fingers thus preventing the short. Of course if applied in a certain way, maybe with the addition of a foil gum wrapper, perhaps it could act as a trap between the antennae and your finger and increase the wave length of the emitted signal. This could cause problems.
