My wife gave birth to a healthy 7 lbs 2oz baby boy yesterday morning, who we've named Joseph Tobias. Both baby and mom are healthy and glad to be home. We'd like to praise and thank God for answered prayers. This is our first child, so I'm sure our house will never be the same. :)

Wonderful news, brother! Congratulations to you and your family - may this be the first of many children to bless your home.

Woo-HOO! Congratulations, and welcome to Joseph Tobias!

We do love photos, of course.

If you have a camera. And time. ;^)

:sing: Psalm 128:106

"Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.":sing:

Congratulations!!!!!!

The public health nurse was just by and apparently Joseph is jaundiced. There was the possibility that we were going to have to take him back to the hospital tonight for light treatment. We just got the phone call with the results of blood work, and a trip to the hospital tonight is unnecessary, but he'll need another blood test tomorrow. Although this is apparently not that uncommon, of course as new parents we worry about everything. What wonderful news, though, that we have a Heavenly Father who is sovereign and that nothing is outside of his plans. We are praying that tomorrows blood work goes well and that Joseph remains healthy.

That is common. And it is usually nothing to worry about. All of my boys did that also.

Be Very Encouraged and joyful.

never the same

As someone with a 9-month old, I am still learning how true it is that your house will never be the same.

Congratulations and God bless.

BTW, an idea I took from John Piper is trying to, at least once each day, speak the following to my daughter:

The LORD bless you and protect you;
the LORD make His face shine on you,
and be gracious to you;
the LORD look with favor on you
and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-26, CSB

It is common. My son spent a couple of days under the lights after he was born. Jaundice is nothing to get too concerned about as long as it's treated.

Congratulations!!
