John Brown Commentary on 1 Peter

In the 19th century, one of the 174,896,723 John Browns living in Scotland published a massive commentary on the Book of 1 Peter. Has anyone used/read this commentary? Any thoughts?

I've read his Commentary on the Shorter Catechism and his Study Bible and love them!

I have this commentary in a 2 volume set. I've read it and found it very helpful. Although, I must confess that I think very highly of all John Brown's commentaries (Romans, Hebrews, Galatians). I recommend it.
