Joints hurt

So since Sunday, I have been getting a lots of body aches and pains (mostly in my joints). Does anyone know what this could be or from? I do not have a fever, nor do I feel sick or am sneezing etc.

I thought sure this would be some philosophical quandry. But then again, perhaps it is!

Possibilities include that you are getting older, have the onset of an arthritic condition, or did some unusual sort of work that stressed the joints.
If you had athletic injuries at an earlier age, it could be something like that coming back to haunt you. And a lot of people learn to tell the pending weather from their aches and pains--the joints providing advance warning of changes in the barometer.

If it keeps up for more than a week, then definitely get to a doctor.

I would heartily second everything Wayne wrote--and I'm an older guy, so most of what he said applies to me! Depending on your age and activity level, sore joints could be nothing at all, or "something". The "somethingness" of symptoms like sore joints depends a lot on how long the pain lasts, what else goes along with it (joint swelling, redness; rash; etc), and the distribution of the joints (all, large, small), and so forth. Viral syndromes progress to the "oh, I've got a virus" realization, which you more or less have mentioned (fever, congestion, cough, or more GI stuff like nausea, diarrhea). Hope and pray you feel better!

Agreeing with the others, keep an eye on it. If the stiffness is unusual, you might want to consider something weird like Lyme Disease, which comes from a tick bite. I imagine ticks might be out in Texas now.

In any event, if it doesn't get noticably better after a few days, off to the Doc.

I forgot to add that I almost always have joint pain starting late Lord's Day and continuing for a couple days thereafter. But that is because I typically spend Saturday morning taking care of all the neglected tasks that accumulated during the week. Last Saturday I dug ditches and installed a stone patio. The week before I prepared a large garden bed and removed debris from an old shed. For someone who sits at a desk most of the week, that is enough to cause some aches and pains.

You might have done something on Saturday that you are not used to doing.

Vic and Wayne are old men. So they would understand your aches and pains.

Heh. That reminds me of a cowboy greeting card I saw once in a feed store. It showed a wrinkled up leathery guy with some missing teeth grinning.

It said, "If I know'd I'd live this long, I'da done somethin' differnt."

I know this isn't the one you are referring to because this guy looks to happy.

I was thinking Gabby Hayes, but this guy should fit the role. Or is he too happy?
