A scandal which proves how "political" it really is. That the Red Hot Chili Peppers are in but DP is not says it all. The estrangement from Blackmore is a non-issue, especially given the VH and GnR train wrecks. Now, DP has had so many members that it would be an issue as to who would be included. I'm not sure it would be fair to only do Mk II although that was the most well known and influential lineup. What are they up to now? Mk VI or higher?

I think it was also scandalous that Dio was not inducted when Sabbath was. The chance he gets inducted on his own is about zero. I was glad to see that Alice Cooper was inducted as the original band and not just "Alice" himself. (It was originally the band's name and he has to pay the original members to continue to use the name.)

I never saw an interview with him that addressed that subject one way or the other. I did see once that he thought the UK might have made a mistake with getting rid of the death penalty. That tells us nothing about his faith or lack thereof of course. But it at least demonstrates that he wasn't the stereotypical knee jerk lefty. The only comments related to DP and Christianity I've seen have been antagonistic. I'm thinking of Gillan in particular.

Well said. Especially about Dio. I am partial to the two albums he did with Sabbath and think they are some their best work.
