Any one have any experience, opinion of keyless entry locks over against traditional keyed locks? Do they offer that much greater security? Or is convenience the main factor? What are the best kind?

Car door? Sorry; yes, that is nice. I should have been clearer. I mean those new keyless locks available now for door hardware for residences.

Our place of employment uses keyless entry so I assume they are safer. I know they are more convenient!
I think convenience is the main issue. If you have good key control then a deadbolt is a deadbolt. They're obviously harder to pick but there are not that many professional thieves.
Businesses and governments use keyless entry for somewhat different reasons. Key control is easier (cheaper as people lose keys and then locks must be changed) and it allows them to determine who is coming and going at what times.

Do you mean the sort of locks which require you to have a card which you use? Or the sort where you punch in a code?
I like the ones where you punch in a set of numbers . . . the ones I've had, have been a yale lock, so they've got the security of having a deadbolt - and it's much easier to just tell certain people the numbers, than worry about who gets the house key.

Some years ago, I was on a vendor's team that rotated to a customer's site. Our hours were confined to off hours, which meant all night when their staff was not there.
The had one of these locks and they changed the code on a monthly basis. Some of the buttons had worn out. I arrived one time at the beginning of the month without the new code. I only had to try one combination that was different for the previous month to get in.
Just thinking of beefing up home security; have several home projects in the works. This sounds like overkill; but the tech intrigues me. Up to a point (worn keys in consideration).
The tech sounds cool to me too. Of course, when in the States, we always got in through our garage anyway and rarely used the front door.
