The making of brick is a task undertaken by the Israelites in bondage in Egypt, they are initially provided with straw (a simple division of labour). But after Moses and Aaron demand the people are let go, the Straw is removed and the Israelites must gather their own. Yet, the tale (quota) of bricks must still be given.
Could anyone direct me to a source describing the actual production? And how important straw is? It is obviously crucial (from the text) as it slows down the production and means the tale is not met.
