Materials for a men's study

My church is planning on having a monthly men's prayer breakfast and we would like to have a book/study materials to discuss. I would appreciate any recommendations, thanks!!
 
What are some topics that would benefit the men at your church, or perhaps your church as a whole? Is there a particular struggle within your congregation? An area you feel the men could grow in?

We will be a mix of young/mature, married/single men, no particular struggles that I'm aware of, but who knows what will come out. I'm thinking a good general topic study of the role of Christian men in family and society and see if we hit on something for a follow up study..
 
The Bible is a good place to start...sorry just had to. But honestly why not. Does it always have to be some study material generated by a Theologian?

Any classic old or new. R.C. Sproul's "Holiness of God" is a good one. "Disciplines of a Godly Man" by R. Kent Hughes.

Starting from such a position you will eventually systematize what is covered into study material. And since most Reformed study material starts from scripture, and relying on trustworthy theologians is a good way to avoid personal interpretations that can lead off into heresy, then why not use some study material that is already prepared? We don't study scripture and its doctrines in a vacuum, but in light of those gifts of God given to the church in the form of godly men.
 
I am currently reading Precious remedies against Satan's devices by Thomas Brooks, which is a Puritan Paperback published by Banner of Trust. This past Saturday at our own Men's Breakfast, I took some thoughts from Thomas Brooks and read some Scripture. It was a great platform for discussion and reflection. The book as a whole has great material that speaks to modern man as well as those wise and godly gents from the puritan era.
 
Our men's group went through it about 2 years ago. It was edifying for us gray hairs, as well as the teens & twenties. You can probably pick up a bunch of used copies real cheap, but watch out for the shipping fees ;)
