Hey guys whats some good works (online primarily I don't feel like buying more books at the moment) on CCEL or from puritans or something on

heaven, new heavens and new earth? the saints future.

and also any good sermons online on this topic?

My personal take on the Alcorn book is that it's AWFUL. Try some more reliable sources...

Jonathan Edwards is gold, but I would advise you to read him critically: he is at some places a bit speculative. There are few works on this subject by puritan writers because of the sparcity of description of our eternal blessedness in Scritpure. The Holy Spirit was wise in giving us so little knowledge of our future state. He gave us enough information about our eternal blessedness so that we would live as pilgrims, but He gave us so little so that we would never forget that our lives as pilgrims is a way of suffering and cross. This is why we see so little works about heaven in Reformed circles. If you look through several Reformed Dogmatics you'll find chapters on glorification. Berkhof is a good one; so is Hodge, Bavinck, and Dabney. These are not online, but should be easy to acquire. Richard Baxter wrote on this subject in the Saints' Everlasting Rest, which can be read here: The saints' everlasting rest, or, A ... - Google Books I would read him very critically, since he was a neo-nomian. Neo-nomians were the precursors to the Federal Vision and the New Perspective on Paul. However, Baxter does say many good things. I agree with Todd; you're time would be wasted on Alcorn.

Another route to take is to read some Puritans on Assurance. They considered assurance as heaven on earth. I would recommend Thomas Brooks' Heaven on Earth in the Puritan Paperback Series by Banner. I would also read Richard Alleine's Heaven Opened, which is a treatise on the Covenant of Grace. Both of these are also not online, but easily acquired. Don't settle for the easy way to read books: online. Go out and get some books man. A man who wants to study badly enough, will be motivated to get the books he wants. Some men in the past walked many miles just to borrow a book. Don't make excuses.
