MP4 Conversion

Marrow Man

Drunk with Powder
I took a couple of videos the other day of our newborn, Grace, and her first bath (or first one given by us). I want to make a DVD to send to grandparents, but I have hit a snag. I have the DVD software on two different computers, but neither wants to deal with the video format (mp4/mpeg4) that the videos are recorded in.

Is there is simply (and free) way to convert video files from mp4 to something recognizable (such as wmv or possibly mp1 or mp2)? I did find a conversion program on the internet, but it is a trial and puts an ugly watermark over the video (plus, I believe it eliminated the audio as well).
