New Years Resolutions

Let's hear 'em if you got 'em....

I've only kept a New Years Resolution for a full year once. I resolved NOT to work out or exercise for a single day. There was much temptation, as I was quite fond of my large muscles. I almost relapsed several times but somehow persevered. What's more, I am proud to say that I have remained strong and have since refused the urge to bulge back up to my massive former self. :smug:

As for this coming year though, I am undecided. Reading through the Bible is always a good one, but I'd rather start that on my birthday. :book2:

But enough about me...let's hear your plans. Perhaps I may borrow an idea...

I prefer to make reading lists rather than resolutions. :smug:

I resolve to read all the books on my shelf that haven't been opened yet.

This isn't really a resolution, but along with others I hope to read from Matthew Henry's commentary every day (at least as possible). Also, I would like to go through the entirety of the Bible 3 or 4 times. Other than that, exercise, eat healthy, work hard on the job and at school, grow in my relationships at home and at church, and generally seek to bring glory to God in every way possible.

(And if I got married to a godly young woman this year, that wouldn't hurt either.)

Hopefully for you there is a beautiful, young, Reformed girl out there making a new years resolution to marry a godly young man. ;)

Oh, and I actually forgot two big things I want to make a stronger habit (starting sooner than New Years, but close enough): Scripture memorization and not spending much time on the computer.

not sure if these are resolutions or not but first, I want to do this with my wife since we just got married last May.

Second, I have compiled a list of some areas that I feel I am still weak in and desire to grow in knowledge in. I plan to set aside a month to study each subject to better gain a solid understanding. So far some areas I plan to study are the WCF, eschatology, church history, and church government. I would also like to begin memorizing the shorter catechism.

Finally, I also hope that this year my wife and I can get pregnant. Well, I guess that would just be my wife, but I certainly would like to play a part in it!

I resolved last year not to make any New Years' Resolutions, so I'm afraid I can't contribute anything. :)

I resolved many years ago that New Year's Resolutions were good for one thing.... to be BROKEN! I haven't done one in years!

Instead, I like to reflect over the past year, look at God's blessings and my own personal challenges. It is a good time to evaluate my spiritual, personal and professional goals, and maybe institute some lifestyle changes.

But Andres, the first one on your list is very tempting!

:oops:Got married in June, and haven't changed my name yet. My nursing license is due for renewal in January. It has to match my drivers license and SS card. So I will change them all at the same time.
