Dear friends,

I have always found the Orange Order a wonderful Protestant institution. What is your view of the Orange Order? In due time I would like to join the organisation.

My father comes from Northern Ireland and some of our ancestors were members. :pilgrim:

I have investigated the Orange Order in America. I appreciate their passion for holding to the Protestant heritage. I have a great love for Ulster and the Protestant witness there. But as I looked into it, I found that its ties with Masonic connections were very strong and that is something I have no interest in.

They're not enmeshed in Masonic or Pseudo-Masonic ritual are they? I'm vaguely familiar with Order, and the history of its founding. Some of their cryptic oaths seem rather absurd, and based on bad theology, but what I read may be disinformation. I could be misinformed. They do affirm Reformed Faith and that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Any Orangemen on Puritanboard?
