Prayer for the weekend

a mere housewife

Not your cup of tea
I can't find the prayer forum, so I will use this forum for my own purposes. I just wanted to request that anyone reading this thread would take a quick second to pray for my husband and me: he's got an extreme case of strep throat, and has had very little sleep and very little to eat and a high fever for two days now, and is just an utter wreck. We are supposed to be finishing up this huge accounting project this weekend, but since it's all he can do to breathe and swallow, I have to get this done, as well as some other things that desperately need doing before Sunday, as well as (& most of all) taking care of my husband and running to the store for jello etc. And I haven't had much sleep for two days, either :-).

He does have a prescription, but the doctor said it will take at least a couple of days to make him feel any better, as he has such a bad case.

Also, my sister is very sick tonight as well, and I am the only one here to take care of them.

I've been thinking lately about all the verses where God assures us that He hears the prayer of those that call on Him in trouble, and that He acts on their behalf. This is really not a very large trouble (I'm sure it's larger for my husband, though), but it is still more than I know what to do with. It's just incredible to me that we are so self-sufficient that most of the time even our large troubles don't drive us out of ourselves to the Lord until we are already beyond despair. I guess what I've been realizing most of all is that there is a difference, whether in a large or small things, in calling on the Lord in a panic, and in calling on the Lord you trust absolutely.

Done!

In my previous job, I was often away form home for weeks or even months at a time. My wife was solo with the kids (5) for all that time. The brief moments that I returned the favor, I was simply overwhelmed. I still don't know how she did it, but I do know how you feel.

Your husband no doubt will be better soon, but in the meantime, may God's grace and mercy quiet your over-extended and frazzled spirit and may you lean on him all the while.

thanks,
Rob

Heidi,
I'll be praying for you and your family. I hope everybody feels better soon.

Prayers said for you and for your sick husband (there is NOTHING fun about strep throat) and that your project is completed.

PS the prayer forum is invisible. When you have time for the board, ask an admin to put you on the allow list.

Prayed for your husband this morning. I was very sick last December, so I know what it's like.
