Sometime last Sunday, I became more aware of my lack of holiness toward God. So I read Jerry Bridges’ Pursuit of Holiness. Man it was a great enlightenment. I realized living a holy life is a serious, and even though Christ’s burden is light, and a difficult task. I mean I didn’t experientially realize this until after reading that book. And now I see it all over Scripture in how God tells us to live. I came out of a generic evangelical background and wasn’t really taught this.
The Christian life is hard. And then a week on, I got another rude awakening that sin won’t so easily just “let” me be holy.
I just ask for your prayers that I would continue to strive for holiness, I mean really strive, and that the difficulties I face in doing so would be cast onto Christ and His Spirit for help.
