The ARP Church is the oldest Presbyterian denomination in America, being formed in 1785 as a merger of Seceder and Covenanter churches. The Associate Reformed Church is solidly conservative, but does allow female deacons.

The ARP is "conservative" but does allow famales as deacons? Hummm.....

What was the Seceder and Covenanter Churches?

The Seceders were the Associate Presbytery that left the Church of Scotland in 1733. The Erskine brothers were a part of this denomination. The Covenanters were the Reformed Presbyterians. These two denominations merged here in America and formed the ARP.

That is a very informative page, thank you for that. It is good to see some of the things to watch out for in each of them.

Question: If that list is supposed to contain reformed churches and even churches that call themselves reformed, then why doesn't it contain the reformed baptist church? Is it possuibly that this list refers to Westminster only?

BJ can speak of course for his intent but I think the list is merely intended to contain Presbyterian and Reformed (3 forms etc) churches. No intentional slam to churches who call themselves Reformed Baptist. But that would be an interesting resource (list of RB churches) if there is such a one out there.
