Question about Microsoft Word

I am having a problem control "footers" in Microsoft Word (the 1997-2003 version). Is there a way to make it so that the exact same footer (except for page number) does not appear on every page? I would like the footer to read a certain way on pages 1-5, for instance, a different way on pages 5-10, etc. How do I control what the footer says?

Alternately, I also have access to Word 2007, but I am much more unfamiliar with using that program. But if there is a fix under that version, that would be fine as well.

Tim, I'm pretty sure you can insert section breaks where you want them (after page 5, for example, in your example) and each section can have a different heading/footer.

I don't have access at the moment but if you put in section breaks it may allow you to apply header footer text to just that section?
