Question about Premillenialists

Would premillenialists be opposed to a nation trying to set up a theocracy now? I was just wondering because they believe that Jesus will reign on this earth for a literal 1000 years and that will definitely be a theocracy.

Pessimistic premillenialists might not think it was necessarily wrong, but they would probably think it was pointless to try.

A premil-acceptable theocracy would have to be set up in the State of Israel, for that is where they say from whence He will reign. They do not see He reigns now from heavenly Jerusalem, in the midst of the Israel of God.

Some of the Anabaptist groups attempted it. It is opposed in the Second Helvetic Confession:

We further condemn Jewish dreams that there will be a golden age on earth before the Day of Judgment, and that the pious, having subdued all their godless enemies, will possess all the kingdoms of the earth.
