maybe 2004-ish. I believe he was paedo when he went to speak at the Auburn Ave Pastor's Conference. I met him later on but forgot to ask.

I asked a dear friend and mentor if John was on the level, he reponded sincerely,"he(John) thinks he is, but don't drink too deep from his well". Well I took a big drink to find out what he meant. I was surprised and somewhat taken back by how much he has changed, but I think there is some wisdom to be gleaned from his ministry. With that being said, I do agree with my friend, dont drink too deep from his well. He has a lot of articles that are tellin of what he belives. in my opinion, I would put him in the same camp as those that are sympathetic to NPP, FV and RCC. BEWARE!

I would not say that, he is quite the opposite, he seems to have a disdain for Dispensationalists or what they have taught I should say. He calls their eschatology "pessamilleniallism". I can not remember exactly where I read that, but I would take it to the bank. He attributes to them a lot of what's wrong with evangelicalism today.
My church stopped supporting John Armstrong when it found out that he advocates the wrong view of justification.

Not to be misunderstood here, I do not agree with John on his views on justification. The only wisdom that I could see gleaning is probably not worth the time spent. I would not send a member of my church to his websites, I would want them to avoid them, much like I would never put anyone on to Doug Wilson(pre-FV) for fear they may follow him on into great heresy. I in no way endorse present day John Armstrong, and it does break my heart to have to say that. As a pastor I read guys of his caliber for the sake of learning what I must protect my people from.

I saw John Armstrong speak (together with Don Kistler, if I recall correctly) at a conference in the Rochester, NY area. It was a wonderful conference - and John spoke sound, Biblical truth, aiming to help the assembled people see the value of Reformed teaching. That was in 2001 or 2002, and at that time I'd have gladly suggested people read his material and listen to his teaching. Since then, and I'm not sure what prompted it, John has fallen greatly, and is growing steadily more aligned with FV teaching. It is indeed a lamentable transition.

To his credit--doesn't excuse anything else--he has debated homosexuality publicly in a University Forum. I have to hand the man that.
