Resources on disappointment

Any Puritan resources on the subject of handling disappointment? Presumably it touches a bit on contentment but, I am not certain they are the exact same.

Does the disappointment grieve the soul to the point it questions its salvation? If so, I recommend "The Doubting Believer" by Sedgwick.
