Resources on Romans 7:14-25

Hello everyone, I was wondering what some good resources on Romans 7:14-25 were from the perspective that Paul is writing about a non-believer.
Some friends of mine have been discussing this issue recently as some of the elders from my old church who are NCT and Prog. Disp have been taking the stance that it’s about a non-believer.
I really don’t find that view convincing, but I also would like to try and understand where they’re coming from. I’ve looked at a commentary by Moo and some videos from cross and crown ministries. Why are some other helpful resources?

I think most modern commentaries are like that truthfully. I'll have to take a look but I want to say Dunn takes that view. He's not NCT though. Brian Rosner might but, I don't recall.
Generally, I think the reason is that, being a subspecies or deviant view of the subservient covenant view (of sorts of course), the law covenant is fulfilled (read terminated) since one reason is that it was 'added for transgressions.' in other words, since it stirred up sin (in some of the people's view that was its ONLY reason for its existence) and is now no longer, then Paul's reasoning must be that of a Jewish non believer trying his or her best.

I have no idea about Rosner but Dunn does not take the view Romans 7 is about a non-believer. I will link evidence for this before I click "Post reply".

In my experience with NCT elders and pastors around me, these guys do believe Romans 7 is about the lifelong struggle of a believer. They do also seem to really believe that the ONLY thing the law is for is conviction of sin, but that is the law of Moses (sic). Christ gave us a "better law" because he was a "new and better lawgiver".

In my opinion, present day NCT will give rise to NCT 2.0 in a few years that will fall into some kind of version of Andy Stanley and find some way to justify unhitching the OT in much the same way that present day NCT denies (yet does not deny) the Decalogue. They deny the covenant principles and eternal moral nature of the Ten Words, but they do not deny God's use for the Ten as a convictor and tormentor before conversion and all throughout a believer's lifetime.

If what the OP says is true, and there are now NCT claiming that Romans 7 is for only non-believers, then logical necessity will demand the NC is so different that the OC needs only be relegated to historical curiosity and relegated to a bookshelf next to the Maccabees. Why not?

EDIT: When I said "if what the OP says is true" I was not doubting his word (God forbid, brother!) I really meant "if what the OP says is true and if that becomes pronounced within the NCT camp moving forward in time ...".
