Songs that get stuck in your head

This thread was inspired by the NBA finals thread, and is one which you will probably regret reading.

My selections for songs that you can't get out of your head (aka "earworms"):

1. Everybody was Kung Fu fighting...
2. A whole new world... (from Aladdin)
3. I just can't get you outta my head... Kylie (this one wins the "meta-earworm" award)
4. Friends are friends forever... MWSmith
5. Mmmm mmmm mmm mmm... Crash Test Dummies (the easiest way to get an earworm out of your head is to have it gobbled up by a more obnoxious one. Following the metaphor, this earworm is larger than Jabba the Hut and dwells unchallenged at the top of the food chain).

Uh oh. I regret writing this already....

You're a jerk times twelve for making this topic. You do realize that if anyone posts songs that get stuck in their head, everyone will walk on away from the topic humming one, when they don't want to.

Bad bad person.

Oh man. This is not a good topic. And of course I can't post mine, because Bryan (StayTheCourse) has vowed revenge for me bringing up "I Love a Rainy Night" by Eddie Rabbitt (which isn't one of my sticking songs, but apparently it's one of his...)

Mary :D

1. Andy Griffith Show theme song

and, the worst "get stuck in head" song of all time:

*drumroll*

2. Banana Phone by Raffi

Don't know the title or the author but it's a girl singing

"da da dah da d d dah da, da da dah da d d dah da..."

Oh I hate that song :flaming:

Now I believe in Total Depravity! Thank God I don't know most of these songs but I do know The Lion Sleeps Tonight! There! I got revenge!

The bad thing is I am his wife and I have no clue what he is talking about, I just hope he isn't talking about me!

After the turn
Of the century
In the clear blue skies
Over Germany

Came a roar and a thunder
that was never heard
Like the screaming sound
of a great war bird

10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or more,
The bloody red barron

I can't go on...I know it all. Every word.... every note.:banghead:

I hesitate to bring this one up 'cause it finally left my mind quite some time after my oldest one stopped watching Barney...

:sing:
I love you, you love me,
We're a happy family
With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me to.

What about trying to get one stuck in your head? I spent about an hour the one night, about a week ago, trying to learn a melody, a simple melody. I was going to run it through my head while I was out doing things, to see what chords I could possibly use for it. But it completely got away from me. For the life of me I couldn't remember it. It was like a mental lapse.

I'm the only one I know of that has a problem with forgetting things, in the very process of trying to remember them. It can't be an age factor, because I've had that problem all my life.

Can't Get It Out of My Head -- Electric Light Orchestra

Midnight on the water.
I saw the ocean's daughter.
Walking on a wave's chicane
staring as she called my name.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head.

Breakdown on the shoreline,
can't move, it's an ebbtide.
Morning don't get here tonight,
searching for her silver light.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

Bank job in the city.
Robin Hood and William Tell and Ivanhoe and Lancelot, they don't envy me.
Sitting till the sun goes down,
in dreams the world keep going round and round.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

No, I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no no no.

Title: Limelight

Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage.

Cast in this unlikely role,
Ill-equipped to act,
With insufficient tact,
One must put up barriers
To keep oneself intact.

Living in the Limelight,
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem.
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation,
Get on with the fascination,
The real relation,
The underlying theme.

Living in a fisheye lens,
Caught in the camera eye.
I have no heart to lie,
I can't pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend.

All the world's indeed a stage,
And we are merely players,
Performers and portrayers,
Each another's audience
Outside the gilded cage.

All I can tell you is coer your ears, scream and RUN if you hear the song...
Honky Tonk Badonkadonk by Trace Atkins

Get this one out of your head. For months it was stuck and I hate the song on so many levels.

Desert loving in your eyes all the way
If I listen to your lies would you say
Im a man without conviction
Im a man who doesnt know
How to sell a contradiction
You come and go
You come and go

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon
You come and go
You come and go
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dream
Red, gold and green
Red, gold and green

Didnt hear your wicked words every day
And you used to be so sweet I heard you say
That my love was an addiction
When we cling our love is strong
When you go youre gone forever
You string along
You string along

Every day is like a survival
Youre my lover not my rival
Every day is like a survival
Youre my lover not my rival

Im a man without conviction
Im a man who doesnt know
How to sell a contradication
You come and go
You come and go
