We used to turn the clocks back the last Lord's Day of September. It changed to October the year I turned 8. The last year it was September I remember getting up that Sunday morning and it was so bright in the room. You had like 6 more weeks to enjoy the morning light.
When it was spring forward the last Lord's Day of April, you had another month to enjoy the morning light and then by that time the days were sufficiently long enough so that you still had it when the clocks went ahead.

I can't believe Congress with this "Hallowe'en Safety Act" that's going to postpone fall back by another week, just to accommodate that one day. Yet here I am driving to work in the morning and seeing these kids get on the bus at like 6:30. It's pitch dark out there, and it's been that way for over a month. In other words Hallowe'en safety takes priority over the daily safety of kids waiting for school buses during the morning rush hour. Assinine!
Just put in a global announcement so folks would find this.
Ironically, Okinawa does NOT participate in DST but I'm in the States right now. That is actually a Providential blessing as I could use the extra hour of sleep tonight.
