Does anyone have a favorite Thanksgiving Day devotional to share? Does anyone have any favorite hymns suitable for Thanksgiving to recomend?

I've never done one before and I'd like to try it year.

Thanks

One year when we had lots of people over, I made copies of "Now Thank We All Our God," rolled them up, tied with a nice ribbon and set one at each place at the table. We then sang it right before we ate. With fewer people, like today, we can gather 'round our hymnals. "Now Thank We" is still my favorite Thanksgiving hymn, but "We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator" and "Come Ye Thankful People Come" are also very worthy to include in this kind of tradition.

O, give thanks to the Lord!

(James Smith, "Sunny Subjects for All Seasons" 1858)

"O, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His mercy endures forever!" 1 Chronicles 16:34

O, give thanks to the Lord, Christian, for He has not dealt with you after your sins, nor rewarded you according to your iniquities! He has . . .
pardoned your sins,
justified your soul,
renewed your nature, and
given you a title to everlasting life!

He has thus . . .
prevented your ruin,
borne with your follies,
supplied all your needs,
guided your steps, and
promised to conduct you to glory!
His mercy has been ever great toward you!

"O, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His mercy endures forever!"
