The Lord's Supper

1 Cor 11:29 says Anyone who eats & drinks without recognizing the body of
the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself
So based on that, the memorial, Baptist view of a symbol or the
Reformed view of an emblem or a sign seems also to be lacking.
The Catholic view of transubstantiation that Christ is the host goes too far.
So the Lutheran view that Christ is really present in the host seems to make
the most sense. How can one eat & drink judgment on themselves if it
is just a sign, memorial, emblem or symbol? This takes away the meaning
of the passage.

To partake is to agree that Jesus is who He said He is and that His sacrifice was necessary for your salvation. You are physically representing what you are supposed to be spiritually doing, feasting on Christ. It is a past, present and future memorial, focusing on what Christ has done, is doing and will do because He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. To partake and not believe any of this is akin to attempting to put God in a box or perform some sort of spell, as though God were bound by our actions. That is not the purpose of the Lord's Supper, and any who do so will be judged accordingly.
