I am curious as to how much certainty the members on this board hold in their theological convictions/arguments in regards to specific issues. Some issues may include, but are not limited to...Soteriology? Baptism? Eschatology? Infant death...etc.

I would say I am 95% convinced of a purely TULIP view of soteriology; however, some of the seemingly arminian texts are not perfectly reconciled in my mind, particularly limited atonement. I believe in limited atonement. However, I have yet to hear an argument that completely satisfies.

I am almost 85% certain at this point of my study that baptism is for believers, not for infants.

I am absolutely uncertain of end times theology at this point.

I am 75% certain babies go to heaven when they die.

There are plenty of other issues that I've failed to list where I am not completely certain. Much of it comes down to faith. I am curious about your views and the amount of certainty which you hold these views.

Hi B,

Try something different. Instead of using the TULIP grid (go beyond it) to read Scripture study the Covenants - i.e. Covenant Theology.

Scripture's teaching on covenant undergird the entire way God relates to His people.

This will begin to unpack the meaning of all the doctrines!

Michael Horton's book "God of Promise" is excellent to begin with.

Yes, Calvin's studies are extraordinary and Biblically accurate. However, grasping the whole of God's design in "HOW" he saves his people (covenant) is the picture on top of the big puzzle box!

Dr. Scott Clark's essays are especially wonderful, too!!!

That's fine...and I appreciate your reply. Perhaps the question wasn't clear enough, so I'll restate it.

Do you believe everything that you believe with 100% certainty.

I believe in what I believe, yes :smug: jk

100 soteriology
100 believers baptism
50 the covenants,(still studying)
80 eschatology
50 baby-death salvation, pretty much unsolvable, not enough solid-info for one or the other pov.

100% doctrines of grace
100% infant baptism
95% Postmill
100% CT
90% Presbterians are smarter and better looking than Baptists:lol:

75% CT - not deep enough into it, but love the doctrine - and I do agree that it is a paradigm changer!

95% doctrines of grace - only because I expect CT to strengthen the doctrine even more

95% believers baptism - but open for more understanding

85% sure Eschatology is more dispensational than covenantal and is a distraction

100% Christian Theist!
