Tracking Down Lost Company

This question (at end of post) is actually work related, so I don't feel guilty getting onto the PB now.

I use a piece of software called IntraVision, originally produced by a company called PlanetCAD. Its a software program that let's you open and modify different kinds of CAD files. I need to be able to open Pro-E files, and I just found out one of the programs we use can do it for me...if you have the optional Pro-E module installed, which we don't. I wanted to try and contact their sales people to get a price. I called the numbers that came with the original bill, but the numbers have been disconnected.

I tried searching the internet, but haven't been able to locate them yet. It led me to a company called "Avatech Solutions", so I contacted their sales people. It appeared from the website that PlanetCAD had changed their name to Avatech Solutions, but the sales person said no. She gave me what she thought was PlanetCAD's number, but it turns out that one was disconnected too.

Do any of you know of any good resources that might help me track down this company?

I have no idea about PlanetCAD, but I do know that there are other free viewers available for Pro-E files out there. Do a google search and you should be able to turn something up. If you can't find anything, I'll do some looking when I get to work.

Good idea. I've been using a viewer I downloaded called Autoview SolidModel, which lets me do what I need to do. Unfortunately, there's a 30-day trial period and it expires in 13 days. I was going to just search for another free download when it expires, but I really need something I can use long-term - and preferrably using software the company I work for owns. Since they already own software that can view the files if I have the add-on, I'd really like to try and track down the add-on, if its still available.

Thanks, Andrew. That's the company I had contacted yesterday, but the number they gave me was disconnected. I'll go ahead an email them back again and see if they have another number.

Correction. I had contacted Autodesk, which was the last company I found in the path I followed. I just got off the phone with Avatech, and they referred me to Autodesk.

When I was a kid, I enjoyed the Merry-go-round. Going around in circles isn't as much fun when you get older.
