TV Preacher

I've been at home with a bad cold today, and early this morning while flipping through TV channels I happened upon a guy preaching. I hadn't ever seen him before, so I thought I'd see how long he would last without spouting some heresy, which is usually within about 30 seconds with most TV preachers. I was refreshingly surprised by what I heard. He was actually making sense! The fellow's name is Dr. William R. Crews and his show is called The Awakening Hour. Anybody familiar with this ministry?

This sounds fairly Calvinistic:

4. We believe that the whole human race is fallen in Adam and that all people are depraved and in a desperate condition and are unable to recover themselves from this plight by their own efforts, works, or strength of will.

5. We believe Jesus Christ is the exclusive way of salvation and that only through His blood and righteousness can anyone have eternal life and reach heaven.

6. We believe in the electing grace of God, and that acceptance by God is solely by His free and sovereign grace apart from human works.

7. We believe that all persons must be born anew "“ by the Spirit of God in connection with repentance, faith and receiving Christ as both Lord and Savior.

8. We believe in the Biblical eternal security of all those who are in Christ.

Sounds like a tv preacher to whom I might actually listen.

He is a Calvinist Baptist...he did a series (pretty good, I might add) on election last year. I do not like his stance on creation though; you may want to check into that. I can't remember exactly what he said, so in order to avoid slander, I will not try to quote, but from what I remember, he believes there is a gap between Gen. 1:1 & 1:2. He may be a day age theory gut too....not sure, so call his ministry & find out (I do think that he spoke openly about it on air though.)

The Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 gap theory is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. It gets more ridiculous when it's enthusiasts try and explain it. I first heard it from a Presbyterian ironic enough.
