Valerius Herberger [1562-1627] was a Lutheran Pastor from Selsian who wrote a fair number of commentaries.
This work was originally published under the title: Magnalia Dei: de Jesu Christo, Scripturae nucleo et medullae, First Edition: Schuerer; Leipzig 1609.
This edition was translated from the German edition by Matthew Carver and published by Emmanuel Press of Fort Wayne, IN in 2024 as part seven of a series The Great Works of God, under the title: The Mysteries Of Christ In The Book of Leviticus
Herberger keeps Jesus front and center in this commentary; showing how the detailed ceremonies associated with the animal sacrifices in the Leviticus were all designed to point to Jesus offering Himself up as an atoning sacrifice for His people.
The book is very readable as if it were designed for new Christians to see Jesus in Leviticus. Pastors and Seminarians, and those conducting Bible studies may appreciate how Herberger divided it up into 70 or so short homiletic sketches.
Emmanuel Press seems to be directly connected to Redeemer Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne, IN. Redeemer Lutheran is a Missouri Synod Congregation noteworthy for its commitment to Lutheran orthodoxy and a robust Lutheran liturgy that only differs superficially from old High Church Anglican liturgy.
