I got this info second hand, but I've heard stuff like this before from Billy and Franklin.

Watched the news last night and saw Billy Graham's son say that God did not do the tsunami but the devil. That Jesus loves us and won't do this to mankind..

What has happened to this family? Billie may have never been completely acurate in all of his theology, but he wasn't saying stuff like that!

Actually, Billy has said stuff like this before. I recall (although I can't find the quote at the moment) that after the 1989 California earthquake, he claimed that God was not responsible for the disaster.

Also, here is an article about his comments on AIDS being a judgment of God which he soon thereafter retracted: http://www.baptistpillar.com/bd0342.htm

Additionally, here is an interview with his daughter who spoke about September 11 not as God's judgment. Note also the controversy that Franklin experienced due to his comments on September 11, which may shed light on his recent statement on the tsunami disaster: http://archives.cnn.com/2001/COMMUNITY/12/11/graham.lotz/

Has anybody read the book called "Billy Graham: The Pastor's Dilemma"? What'd you think of it? I've never read it, but was tempted years ago to buy it.

I have this book. It's quite good. It explores his ecumenical approach to the crusades.

BTW, apparently he no longer uses the word 'crusade' because he doesn't want to offend Muslims.

...how about the word "cross"?

Gal 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Perhaps we should change that word to 'crescent'...:chained:

Good point. Maybe when we get to that word, there should just be a moment of silence...but then that would offend the ACLU

I had heard that when asked where her God was after 9/11, his daughter spoke of prayer out of schools and the modern secularism in America, and then said, "God is a gentleman - He doesn't go where He's not wanted." :banghead:

Oh man, if that wasn't so sad I would be laughing out loud!

Well, if you look at all the men most heart driven for Christ...well they weren't sissy gentlemen (I like gentlemen but there are two different kinds you understand...a man is a man is a man)...I believe they were REAL men! Vision Forum type men...kill the enemy, defend the home, train the children, protect and lead the women, etc (can you tell I'm NOT a feminist?)

Amen, sister

yeah, but haven't you read the new improved translations...God didn't do that...he could only give Noah the brains to get out. Noah felt sorry for all those ppl, but alas, they were too deceived and therefor got washed away by Satan himself...(isn't this putting satan as God's equal?!)
