Puritan Board Post-Graduate
I have spent the last year an a half debating Atheists over at iidb.org and decided that I needed a time of refreshment from that space for a while. Particularly since Hurricane Katrina.
My time there was fruitful, I believe, if for no other reason than to be exposed to the rational, logical yet spiritually blind as well as the breadth of Christian, quasi-Christian and pagan thought/doctrine, so I would understand what it truly means to "Test everything, keep the good".
I have also been more and more convinced of the efficacy of Reformed and Calvinistic doctrine/theology.
I am currently serving as a Worship leader in a Southen Baptist church with a pastor who did his study at Moody, but is heavily influenced by John Piper - it is a blessing to find a body that is vital and loving and moving in what I believe is the right direction.
I am not sure how it will all work out, but I am optimistic, expectant and earnestly seeking to be aligned with God's will.
Anyway - I have lurked here for awhile and participated a bit and am very impressed with the level of scholarly, Godly folk here.
I am also struck by the judgemental tone that may be inadvertantly expressed here. I may be too sensitive, but I feel led to make the observation.
I have found myself being very agressive here - probably a fruit of the "debating" style so prevalent on the Atheist boards. If I have offended, I apologise and ask your forgiveness.
Anyway, I thought I might hang out here a season and bounce some of my perhaps unorthodox views and some of the ideas I have had bouncing around in my mind with like-minded kindred as I struggle to submit my intellect, emotions and spirit to the will of the Sovereign God, through the Holy Spirit, given through my Savior, Jesus Christ.
Hope this hasn't been too rambling/disjunct; glad this place is here.
Glad ya'll are here...
