When someone is under church discipline how are we to treat them? What is our response to them? How do we apply Matthew 18:17?

And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

If they repent, restore them; otherwise, like a publican, with love and prayer for their repentance.

Agreed,

With love and prayers. If repentant, restore them. If non repentant, with love and prayers, and if they'll listen to you admonishment from the Scriptures.

How close to remain relationally to such a one depends on several factors. Not the least of which is considering one's own possibility of falling into temptation themselves.
