Advice Dealing with SDA

at the SDA church..I have an older brother(my blood brother) who is currently 21..he just joined the SDA church 1yr and some odd months ago..i asked why did he join and he said "Because i asked God and I felt I should be there".SO i told him okay so what are some of your beliefs,he did have some of the basic foundation of beliefs the trinity and other things but EVERYTHING else was twisted..i kinda scared for him b/c the church he goes to seem kinda legalistic and b4 he answers any theological questions he has to talk to his pastor!?!..but I want to help him get out that kinda inviorment..what scriptual verses and what theological questions should i ask him to get to thinking...

Seventh Day Adventism is a real hodge podge. Different congregations / people adhere to different tenets of belief. There has been quite a bit of schismatic speech in the SDA movement in the past several years.
