Luke 6:35 "But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil."
Matt 6:4 "That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly."
What will be the basis of the rewards the Christian receives? It seems obvious enough from verses such as the ones above, but will we be declared righteous because of Christ (his perfect obedience, satisfaction of the penalty of the Law, the imputation of his righteousness)...and then rendered rewards according to OUR specific deeds of righteousness that we did as Christians in this life?
