A bird just hit the large window in our living room. Fell to the ground, twitched, and sadly it died.

Amen. All that wonder and creation in a bird. Its job complete and in an instant - dead. Who knows the hour or the day of our death?

You got that right, Peter. The other day I was driving over the Bayway across Mobile Bay. I make that drive several times each week. I enjoy watching the pelicans coast along. It is so cool because sometimes they are just feet away from your window. The other day I was enjoying watch one coast along next to me. Suddenly he cut across the roadway and BAM! right into the front of a tractor-trailer rig. Just like that, dead. It can happen just as suddenly to any of us. And, it is all, including the bird, a part of God's good will. Very humbling and encouraging at the same time.
