EBay question--what?

Well the item says "Free Shipping" with a Shipping cost of $0.00. I thought that meant I wouldn't have to pay for it to get to me. :p
 
Hmmm. If it says free shipping, it should arrive at your door free -- no postage due. I'd call or email the guy right away.
 
First - Nice ALICE Pack.

Second, you need to contact the seller and explain that "Free Shipping" means you (the buyer) don't pay for shipping. Be polite. The sellers are usually quick to correct any mistakes or clear up any misunderstandings.

If the seller refuses to honor his Free Shipping agreement, contact ebay.
 
Nice ALICE and a great price. They go for around 75-100 in the surplus stores around here all day long. If he is reputable he will honor his shipping for free tag on the add.
 
So I just called the post office and apparently the seller didn't pay the full shipping price. That sucks because the total postage due is $46 for a $34 sell. He only pay $14 of the postage due, thus the approx. $32 due remaining. This wasn't the best sale of his career, I'm thinking. :think:
 
$31.60 is a lot of money for an Alice pack via Priority, there must be some mistake.

I'm surprised to see free Priority shipping, though.

An Alice pack weighs less than 10 pounds. Priority from Ohio to CA can't be that high. The USPS is screwing this thing up. Likely the sent it express when it should have been Priority.

$14 sounds like a large flat-rate Priority charge. 10 lbs from ohio to ca runs about $30 Priority if a non-flat-rate box is used. Something's messed up.
 
Did he ship it full of MREs or something? They don't weigh that much. Sounds to me like he was using an Ebay shipping box or something that is charged a flat rate and they charged him by cube instead of by weight.
 
I think you're right, Lawrence; the guy at the post office said that the cost had to do with the dimension of the box or something. Hrmm.
 
Well, hopefully the seller and I can work this out; if not, I'll just pay the rest myself. No big deal. I was just rather confused that I still had a postage due, but y'all have convinced me that trouble must be afoot.

Best thing to do is to try and call the seller.. Here's how you can get their contact information. Go to advanced search which is located in the upper section of the ebay screen it's located next to the search button. Click on advanced search. Another screen will come up on the left hand side of the new screen-click find contact information. Once you click on this another screen will appear. You will need to put in the item number of the auction and the user i.d. of the seller. eBay will send you via email the buyers contact information along with your contact information to them. Most of the time the phone numbers are current. Sometimes they aren't but this is usually from buyers not sellers.

I've found this is the best way to handle any issues.
