Tonight was the first time I used ebay and I won. I bought an antique GEM razor for .99 cents!

Is paypal safe? I've never used it.

Thanks.

Palpay is not safe!

But Paypal is! :D

Seriously, I've used it for years and have never had a problem.

:D I'm still in shock that I won. This item shipped will cost less then $10 bucks.

PayPal is quite safe, and has actually been owned by eBay since 2002. You're in good company. :)

However, as with any online transaction system, you want to be careful about protecting your account details.

Don't count your chickens till you see what you get. :2cents:

I don't mean to knock ebay...I've found a few good deals myself. But be careful. Pay close attention to a seller's feedback and reputation.

"Pay close attention to a seller's feedback and reputation""

Yep..this is what you want to look for: good, and plenty of, feedback.

My hubby is a numismatist who buys and sells coins worldwide on ebay. He rarely runs into any difficulty using ebay/paypal. They have good customer service, both from the buyer and seller point of view.

My hubby has over 7000 positives. No negatives or neutrals. This morning he told me of a dime he purchased for 8$, resold last night for 78$. That sort of thing keeps our puppies in kibble.

Paypal is very safe, but I don't link my bank account (only my credit card) no matter how often it "encourages" me to do so.

Cold water shaving...maybe. We are not all exactly alike, faces are different and hair growth patterns are different so it might work for me. I've been having good luck with Proraso and it makes shaving enjoyable so right now, I don't see the need to try cold.

It looks like there is a guest option, you pay with your credit card as a guest through paypal, does the seller get your info if you do this?

They don't---just your money. Only PayPal has your info. So if you deal with a dozen sellers, you haven't given out your info a dozen times, just the once to PayPal, who acts as intermediary between you and the seller.

I just recently bought a Droid Incredible on eBay. It was a lot cheaper than getting it from Verizon. Or anywhere else, really. =)

Let's open up the thread.

What are some of the items or deals you got from ebay?

I bought my Pioneer PL-115D for about $80 in great shape with only $48 shipping to Canada.
It was worth it just because of the shipping, it was very well packaged.

Two years ago, I got a brown Pendleton tweed overcoat for around 30 bucks---that thing is seriously warm in winter
