EPC and women 'ministers'

What are the EPCers here thinking on women being allowed to be 'ministers'? Seems like this is just the PCUSA all over again, at least in my view.

For those under care and/or elders in the EPC, what are your plans concerning this non-biblical practice?

Did something happen at GA that I don't know about?

From what I recall from reading an article about it, the GA decided that a church in the Central South Presbytery (which doesn't allow women "ministers") wants to have women ministers, they can be transferred to an "adjacent" presbytery that allows it.

Ok. I know what you guys are talking about now. I was pretty sure this would pass, but was unaware that it in fact did pass. Personally this bothers me. I knew the EPC allowed presbyteries to determine to call female "ministers" and last I saw only one or two female "ministers" in the entire denom. Although this annoyed me, I could stomach it because in my mind I saw that the presbyteries would stop future "ministers" from happening. Now, the presbytery can't prevent it.

I talked with some leaders in my church a few months back about my feelings and apprehensions. They know that I may jump ship. Because of the military, I cannot make a knee jerk reaction and just leave. I need to take my time. Right now I am putting feelers out and just seeing where things go.

I have family in the Kingwood area and in my OPC days visited the Kingwood mission work one time. At that time they were meeting in a funeral home that was not far from the Kingwood campus of 2nd Baptist. I got to witness a Presbyterian "credo baptism" as well, when a young man about 21 years old was sprinkled.

Houston Reformed Northwest is a mission church of Providence OPC. I will preach there this Sunday, then the following two Sundays I will be filling in for Pastor York while he is on vacation. After that, I will be back at Houston Reformed Northwest for another three weeks.
