For Those Who Like Homemade Projects

I loved my gingery furnace (it long ago cracked and I have not replaced it). But I have had luck just using a Dakota Fire Pit and some bellows to melt some scrap aluminum in a pinch.

I have the whole Metal Shop series. Plus his best selling "Secrets of Homebuilt Regenerative Receiver" and some books on dangerous chemicals. He's my favorite non-Puritan publisher.

I've built some pretty cool things from those books. The charcoal foundary allowed me to cast a harpsichord tuner and make a sheet block for my homemade sailboat. I built a lathe, not the same one in the book, but similar. It's great fun.
