Nice single song by Green Day, but Andrew, I'm disappointed that you would post Green Day here. They have some rather...shall we say...disturbing music in their repertoire.But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. You posted probably their best.
I'm selective, ok? Posting one song by a band is not an endorsement of all their repertoire.

A couple of years ago my 20 year old nephew took me to a Green Day concert as a birthday present (I was 45 years old at the time, but for some reason he thought that's what I needed for my birthday!). It was Green Day's American Idiot tour. Musically speaking, the concert was really good. I've got nothing against some good rock and roll. Lyrically speaking, however, it was pretty raucious. 
What surprised me the most, besides forgetting how incredibly loud a rock concert can be, was the fact that there were many parents there with young children. I'm talking about 9, 10, 11, 12 year old kids. The language in some of Green Day's songs is absolutely NC17 rated. The lasting effect on me was that my ears rang for two days. But I wonder what the lasting effect on these kids might be. I know I sound like an old man, but the lyrics in my day were usually just suggestive. Now they they can be downright vulgar.

By the way, Billy Joe Armstrong performed Good Riddance as the final song of the show, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I evaluate all art on a case-by-case basis. I can honestly say I've never heard another Green Day song besides this one. And I think it's a good one.
