How does one join the Baptist subform?

The Baptist subforum is by invitation only. How does one wangle an invitation? I saw a thread about joining Baptist or Presbyterian user groups, but the link for choosing one or the other appears to be broken.

Thanks,
Bill

I believe it's by full immersion, but I could be wrong.

In all seriousness, I thought you could join based on your profile information. That is, if you have Baptist info selected on your profile, it opened things up to those subforums. Sorry I can't help more on that front.

You can join by profession of faith and baptism by immersion. Please note that although other forums can advise the Baptist forum on matters of concern, in the end they have no authority over the Baptist forum and any association between the Baptist forum and other forums on here is purely voluntary.

I feel right at home here: the Baptists won't have me and the Presbyterians just sprinkle unhelpful counsel. I feel a wee bit like Job. ;)

Johnathan, I checked my account: I have clicked the London Baptist Confession option as our church's confession of faith (actually, the Second London Confession) and have Baptist mentioned throughout my profile, have degrees from SBTS, and have pastored the same Baptist church for almost 22 years. When I hover the cursor over the Baptist Forum, I'm greeted with "Forum for invited Baptists (yes, it's in bold) to discuss issues." When I click the Baptist Forum link, I get "You have insufficient privileges to post threads here."

You have to ask moderators to join; I don't know why the language reads for "invited Baptists." I'll add you.

That's right. You have to respond to the invitation personally. You don't get in just because of your parents!

I didn't even know it existed!
That's always the issue with Baptists. You never know where they are, because they don't form into denominations and then create somewhat dated-looking websites for those denominations.

I would also be remiss if I didn't note that every such denominational website has its church directory in a different yet somehow equally hard to find place on the website.

There, now there should be something in this post to offend just about everybody here.

If anyone of the powers that be are handing out invites, is it too late to request one of my own?

Thanks in advance.

If you want access direct message me, or at least tag me in reply. I may miss any request otherwise. I've liked the posts of those who asked so far to confirm they have been granted access.

Yes, Chris, I'm in, but not much goes on in it. I wonder if it's because few knew how to join it, or it could that interested Baptists are a small slice of the Puritan Forum.

Perhaps the "invitation only" popup from the hovering cursor could be changed to "Contact administrator to join" or something like that.

Thanks again.

Hello -- I understand I have been added to the Baptist group, but now I cant find it. Can someone link to it, please? Thanks!

It's a private forum. New members only get access to the private forums after they reach 26 posts.
