"I thirst" - "It is finished!"

Did Christ on the cross ask for liquid so that He could cry out with a clear, unmistakable voice, "It is finished"? Or is there some deeper meaning behind the words?

Ah, of course! It was to finish the Scriptures! (John 19:28) Could you tell me where this prophesy was recorded?
