Strange how much you notice the little things like turning on the lamp, enjoying coffee, having a night light. Then after a while we drift back into our usual mode I fear. Right now I remain in a state of great gratitude as I continue to learn more of others I know that have had great damage to home or big losses. I would like to extend the period of feeling great gratitude for the simple things of life and know this will take effort!
I will be missing the increased social activity around this complex and our daily picnics in the parking area, meeting new folks, telling them of our Lord and inviting them to join me in worship. Our church remained without power today early but did get power before noon! Slow but effective process of restoration here! God is so very good!

Tremendously moving pictures.

These high quality images bring home the impact of this.
I know this is not the first time this has happened around Galveston, but it has been a long time since it happened last and it is a shock.

We continue to pray that things will get back to normal. Thanks for the report and update.

Wow...those photos are incredible. I am seriously confused from the oil slick picture, though. And I will be praying for you, Christiana...Psalm 27:14.

In the end I do thank God for this storm...surely He will bring many to Himself partially because of it.
