iTunes/iPod Question

Hi!

I was wondering what the easiest method is to move music on my iTunes from my PC to my laptop, which also has iTunes.

Really? I wasn't aware that data on the iPod can be put into iTunes. How do I do that?

(It only describes how to move it to an external drive, but it can be adapted to move it to another computer.)

Two Options:

1) If your computer has Windows 7, you can create a network between the two using public files. The files on your first computer get dumped into a folder in the "Shared Files" folder, and you can then copy and paste the folder into your laptop. I "think" this can be done on Vista as well.

2) Copy and paste the files onto an external hard drive (or even as USB Flash drive) and transfer them to the laptop. Depending on how big the folder is, it may take several times to get all of the music over with a flash drive.

Andrew, yes, plugging it into the laptop would work. Do you want the same iPod music and podcasts on both computers?

Do you also have certain podcasts you have to listen to? I have a lot, but only want some updated podcasts when we travel. How I did it with my small fabulous cheap Acer notebook computer is I downloaded iTunes for travel and selected the few podcasts I wanted on a trip, such as Daily Audio Bible (I am in my third year of listening to the whole Bible with them). Then on a trip with WiFi I can get those podcasts and listen to them on my Acer notebook and not miss my Scripture. I also have a small player that recharges the iPod for other things that are on that iPod when we travel such as the Covenant Radio, Heidelblog, Institute for Nouthetic Studies, Nicene Council, Office Hours, and Renewing Your Mind. But maybe you weren't asking that question.
